The tanks contain 10 inches of water so saturated with Epsom salts that they are more buoyant than the Dead Sea.

Everything is kept at skin temperature, making it impossible to tell where your body ends and the water begins. The tanks are thoroughly sound-proofed, and you can float in complete darkness if you choose. “When you’re not fighting gravity or being forced to absorb loads of information,” says Glenn Stokoe, one of the founders of Float North County, “your muscles relax like never before and your body has a lot of free resources to spend thinking, healing, and de-stressing.”
