Farmers Insurance Open
Farmers Insurance Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is organized by The Century Club of San Diego and takes place at the municipally-owned Torrey Pines Golf Course, the place where the U.S. Open Golf Championship took place in 2008!
The tournament originated as the San Diego Open in 1952 and was notably hosted by the singer-actor Andy Williams from 1968 to 1988. Buick was the official sponsor since 1992 to 2010, when it was replaced by Farmers Insurance.

Baseball season
Baseball is huge in San Diego! We boast a San Diego-based professional baseball franchise – the San Diego Padres. The Padres are a member club of the National League (NL) West division, and as such compete in MLB.

Recreational athletes get plenty of chances to put their skills to the test at some of San Diego’s amateur sporting events. For example, San Diego Crew Classic, a rowing competition, features around a hundred college and amateur crews every spring.
