My life goal is to bring others into a fit and healthy lifestyle while coaching them to develop, implement and live with positive fitness and nutritional habits.
With over twenty five years of fitness, rehabilitation and traditional martial arts training I’ve learned how to face change and create discipline; how to master one’s self, blow past set backs, fight to reach that “impossible” goal and continually drive toward the best life. Being able to show you how to win that fight; teach you how create fitness and feed your body for health and how to incorporate regular exercise into your life is what I do. As a Personal Trainer, making it effective, efficient, challenging and fun is my priority. If you struggle to maintain health and fitness as a priority in your life, let me help you.

Fitness has always been a part of my life.
I grew up competitive swimming and since then have tried many different training styles from half marathons, crew, HIIT and plyo style training, bikram yoga, spinning and currently bodybuilding. I think it’s important to have a well rounded training program that includes a variety of different styles to challenge not only your body, but your mind as well. Fitness is just as much a mental challenge as it is physical. I want to teach you to view fitness in a positive light. My training style varies with each individual client based on their goals and needs. My goal as a trainer is to educate, support, motivate and inspire you on how to achieve your goals in a healthy manner by designing a custom program that is fun, challenging and sustainable. Everyone’s fitness journey is different. You should enjoy it! I want to make fitness and health a lifestyle for you and allow you to find that balance. We will work together to have the best version of yourself inside and out.

“Fitness is a celebration of what your body can do. Not a punishment for what you ate.”
I have been a personal trainer for almost 7 years. I began my fitness career in Washington DC at a bustling club where I specialized in weight loss and circuit training. Most recently, I was living in hometown of Worcester,MA where I coached athletes, from youth to semi-pro level, to improve performance and guide them towards a healthy lifestyle outside of their sport.
I am a firm believer in enhancing one’s movement, not just becoming better at “exercise.” Enhancing the mind to muscle connection is just as important, if not more important, than adding weight to the bar. It is important to break out of your comfort zone when training. Your training should not only have you looking better and moving more weight in the gym, but should also open up new avenues of fitness outside of the gym whether its something as simple as playing with your kids or something a bit more extreme like one of those crazy warrior races!!Specializations

Frequently Asked Questions
Is personal training effective?
Contrary to a common misconception, personal training isn’t only meant for wannabe athletes and professionals. In fact, hiring a personal trainer in San Diego can be extremely beneficial whether you’re only just starting on your fitness journey or have quite a bit of work out experience. Here’s why:- Individualized exercise: A professional personal trainer will provide you with tailored advice and exercise that maximize your effort and time, bringing swift results.
- Safe workout program: Your workout program will be carefully suited to your needs and goals, which makes it not only more effective, but also much safer.
- Accountability: When you work out on your own, it’s easy to miss a session or two. Your personal trainer will push you and keep you accountable, which will also boost your motivation.
- Variety: You’ll be less likely to reach a training plateau if you rely on an individual trainer, as they will bring you fresh exercises and variety into your fitness routine.
- Health boost: By customizing your workout program to your needs, your trainer will boost your immune system and help you find balance, making you healthy on both the outside and the inside.
- Quicker results: A personal training routine will be tailored to your goals and needs, which will maximize efficiency and bring you fantastic results in no time.
What exactly does a personal trainer do?
If you’ve never hired a personal trainer before, you may be unsure as to what exactly their responsibilities would be. Essentially, a personal training professional is someone who strives to help clients achieve their fitness goals, which may include everything from weight loss and strength training to general health management.
If you’re looking for expertise-based personal training in San Diego, Fit Athletic is a great choice. Our team is made up of experienced trainers who are fully committed to helping you reach your goals and strengthen your health through customized exercise and personalized advice.
What should I ask my personal trainer?
Your personal trainer should be qualified, experienced, and willing to carefully listen to you in order to devise a workout plan suited to your goals. Here are some questions to ask your personal training expert in San Diego before deciding to hire them:- What do you specialize in? Since your personal trainer should be able to create a workout routine that helps YOU achieve your specific goals, make sure to check if they specialize in the fitness area you’re interested in.
- What are your qualifications? Make sure that the trainer you choose has the necessary education and certification to help you on your fitness journey. This may include college degrees or various certifications such as those from NASM or ACE.
- How do you create a fitness plan? Each personal training routine should be unique to the client. Make sure your trainer doesn’t use the same exercise plans for multiple clients instead of tailoring them to your needs.
At Fit Athletic, we work with a team of certified and highly qualified San Diego trainers who always put their clients first. It is our goal to boost your overall fitness and health, helping you create a steady daily routine that keeps you strong physically, emotionally, and mentally.
What should I expect from my first personal training session?
Your first personal training session is an opportunity to get to know your trainer and decide if they are the right fit for you. Additionally, your personal trainer will use this chance to perform a number of initial fitness assessments that will help you track your progress as well as discuss your needs and long-term goals with you.Although the first part of your session will mostly focus on talking and paperwork, your San Diego personal trainer will probably make you sweat a bit in the second half. They’ll most likely have you do some basic exercises such as lunges, squats or kettlebell swings, just to assess your current fitness level and tailor your workout routine accordingly. They’ll also ask you about any injuries you might have had, or other medical conditions.
How often should you see a personal trainer?
The frequency of your training sessions will largely depend on your specific needs and habits. For instance, if you have a significant weight loss goal or are exercising for a competition, you may want to consider attending personal training sessions at least three times a week.If you’re not sure how often you should train, don’t worry! Your personal trainer at Fit Athletic will gladly discuss your everyday habits and goals to help you determine the most beneficial pace for you. It is our goal to make our San Diego gym a safe and healthy place where you’ll love to go several days a week to boost your physical and emotional wellness.
How can I find a personal trainer in San Diego & beyond?
